You’ll be the lead craftsperson on-site—doing the work and directing a less-experienced team member. You read the plans, set the pace, solve problems in real time, and ensure the work meets spec and schedule. This is not a clipboard role; it’s a tools-in-hand leadership position.
Daily, hands-on carpentry while leading a helper/apprentice (typical crew size 2–3)
Framed and Frameless cabinetry & fine finish work: tight reveals, scribe to out-of-plumb, precision miters
Crew direction & mentoring: assign tasks, teach correct methods, verify quality before moving on
Critical path & sequencing: foresee conflicts, stage materials, keep the day flowing
Client & designer coordination: confirm details, surface issues early, prevent rework
Jobsite excellence: safe, organized, spotless sites—especially in occupied homes
Digital workflow: iPad/apps for plans, photos, punch, and change notes
Quality: first-pass punch acceptance; minimal callbacks
Accuracy: builds to spec; catches plan gaps; tight tolerances on finish work
Timeliness: milestones hit; crew productivity up because you plan and delegate
Client satisfaction: steady, clear communication; calm professionalism on site
Team development: helper’s skills and speed improve under your lead
7+ years residential remodeling/carpentry (tools-on leadership)
Expert finish skills: frameless cabinet install, trim, precision miters, scribing
Multi-trade capability: drywall/patch, paint, light plumbing/electrical (preferred)
Plan reading & layout: lasers, levels, templates, takeoffs, cut lists
Crew leadership: break work into steps, set standards, inspect what you expect
Tech comfortable: iPad/photos/apps for documentation and communication
Professionalism: strong client presence, clean site, high integrity
Ownership mindset—treats the job like your name is on it
Teacher’s patience with a foreman’s urgency
Decisive problem-solver; knows when to escalate and when to execute
