Lead Certified Medical Assistant (Baseline)

HealthyU Clinics is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant – Lead to join our team and provide essential support to healthcare providers. In addition to clinical and administrative duties, this role includes lead responsibilities related to inventory management, compliance, training, and additional administrative tasks to support efficient clinic operations. This is not a supervisory role and does not include direct management of staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate patient records and update EHR systems
• Support front-office functions, including patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and referrals as necessary.
• Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and minor procedures
• Prepare and sanitize examination rooms, ensuring compliance with safety protocols
• Collect and document patient history and vital signs accurately
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors
• Provide patient education and post-visit instructions
• Maintain and restock office and medical supplies as necessary
• Monitor and maintain medical and office supply inventory levels
• Order and track supplies to ensure adequate stock is available at all times
• Coordinate with vendors and purchasing teams as needed
• Ensure clinic areas remain in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and HealthyU policies
• Assist with audits, documentation, and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Identify and report any compliance concerns to clinic leadership
• Assist in training new Medical Assistants on clinic protocols, procedures, and EHR systems
• Serve as a point of reference for clinical workflow questions
• Support ongoing education and best practices for existing staff
• Assist with coordination of daily clinic operations, ensuring efficiency in workflow
• Act as a liaison between clinical staff and administrative teams to facilitate smooth communication
• Participate in clinic improvement initiatives as assigned by leadership

• Medical Assistant Certification required
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a medical assistant
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant lead preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, EHR systems)
• Athena Experience highly preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Prolonged standing, bending, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)

Reliable transportation is required for all positions, as occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary.
