Lead Clinical Lab Assistant-Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center-Full Time

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Accesses, labels, and processes laboratory specimens.
2. Loads specimens on lab analyzers and equipment.
3. Performs patient registrations and orders lab tests in computer.
4. Produces lab reports, sorts, and delivers. 
5. Exercises independent judgement on moderately to substantially complex cases. 
6. Requires little instruction on day to day work and general direction on more complex tasks and projects. 
7. Mentors staff on technical skills.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required: 
1. Associate degree in Medical Technology, Biology or related field. 
2. Technical License or Certificate for Lab Assistant/Technician at the State or National level. 
2. 5-7 years of experience as Lab Assistant or relevant area which includes experience of working in Laboratory, physician office or clinic. 

Preferred:
1. Medical terminology experience.
2. Experience in performing healthcare patient registration.
