DEPT: HEALTH INFO MGMT SERVICES\n\nFull - Time / 8:00 am- 5:00 pm\n\n \n\nUnder minimal supervision, coordinates various aspects of the department clerical areas. In doing so, ensures the quality, timeliness and accuracy of processing of all types of records for chart completion. Coordinates the activities of the Release of records area of the department which includes phone calls, faxes, printing and burning charts to CD\u2019s. Assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed to reduce the hospital\u2019s potential liability in releasing records or protected health information. Assures accurate data is collected for purposes of patient care, medical/paramedical education, legal, administrative, and community health care purposes. The team lead is responsible for covering the department for all shifts, including weekends and holidays, when there is a staff shortage or scheduling conflict. Consistently exceeds quality expectations in this area. Demonstrates extensive knowledge in all medical record functions in the department.
