About the Role: Lead Cook

As a Lead Cook, you’ll play a key role in supporting the health, happiness, and daily experience of the residents at Park Centre in Newton.

  As a Lead Cook you will:

  
  
  
  
  • Assist the Director or Chef with the overall operation of the kitchen, assuring that all venues encourage resident choice and promote healthy eating habits
  
  
  • Monitor food quality and quantity and takes corrective action to ensure food and service standards are maintained 
  
  
  • Understands and follows modified diets 
  
  
  • Assist the Culinary Leadership with waste control
  
  
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff
  
  
  • Actively participates in the onboarding and training of the culinary team
  
  
  • In the absence of the Director or Chef, assist in supervising the daily operation of the culinary team
  
  
  
  

Qualifications: 

• 
  
  
  
  • High school education or equivalent required. Culinary education is preferred. 
  
  
  • Minimum of one year cooking experience. Experience with quantity cooking and modified diet preferred. 
  
  
  • ServSafe Certification required within 60 days of employment. 
  
  
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English. 
  
  
  
  

Candidates for this position must be open to working weekends.  Our restaurants close at 8:00 pm, no late nights are required!
