Lead Designer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Lead Designer.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $56000 - $83000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPerform engineered-to-order (ETO) design work in 2D and 3D CAD, create Bills of Material (BOMs), process engineering change notices and technical work in accordance with customer requirements, processing orders of varying complexity from receipt to completion. Provide guidance to ETO Engineers, Application and Proposal Engineers, Marketing, Sales, shop floor personnel, and Purchasing. After proving good decision making, this position will allow a fair amount of latitude in making independent design decisions. This role requires only moderate supervision, and work is approved by a Master Designer or ETO Engineer.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\n\u2022 Understand engineering/ drafting/ Designers toolsets, including SAP, PLM, AutoCAD, Inventor.\n\n\u2022 Understand and adhere to Product Engineering procedures, part numbering and filing systems.\n\n\u2022 Work with existing computer systems and data files to be knowledgeable of order status and requirements.\n\n\u2022 Create bills of material and drawings for configurable product (CTO), based upon defined selection rules. \n\u2022 Prepare drawing transmittal forms and guide the processing of requested drawings.\n\n\u2022 Perform basic calculations and computations in accordance with established formulas or from specific instructions.\n\n\u2022 Full review of each order, including customer specifications, quote, and purchase order with a focus on standard and non-standard technical requirements which affect design. \n\u2022 Create/ manage moderate to complex ETO solutions and projects.\n\n\u2022 Support ETO Engineers on customer phone calls. \n\u2022 Create Construction drawings based upon sketches and references from an Engineer. \n\u2022 Select/ create buyout specifications based upon descriptions provided in customer quote and specification. \n\u2022 Work with Structural Engineer to determine proper member sizes, ensure structural integrity, and convert to detail and assembly drawings and BOMs with proper fit-up.\n\n\u2022 Take a lead role in developing and updating department processes, procedures, and work instructions.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications \n-Minimum of an Associate\u2019s degree in engineering from an accredited institution. \n-No relocation offered. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered.
