About the Role

The Lead Groomer is a hands-on leadership role responsible for grooming to Scenthound standards, mentoring new team members, and maintaining a positive, safe, and efficient work environment. This is an opportunity for an experienced groomer to take on more responsibility, contribute to a growing company, and make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do

Groom dogs using our puppy cut standard (one length all over, clean face and feet)

Lead by example with a positive attitude and high grooming standards

Train and mentor groomers and bathers on best practices and Scenthound techniques

Foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement

Support the team by jumping in where needed to stay on schedule

Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for dogs and humans alike

Communicate effectively with pet parents and teammates

Collaborate with the Scenter Manager on team development and daily operations

What We're Looking For

Minimum 1 year of grooming experience or graduation from grooming school

Strong understanding of dog breeds, coat types, grooming techniques, and safety practices

Confident and approachable leader who enjoys coaching and helping others succeed

Clear communicator who can give and receive feedback constructively

Physically capable: able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods

Dependable and punctual with reliable transportation

Key Skills

Grooming expertise with a focus on quality and efficiency

Team leadership and staff development

Time management and problem-solving

Attention to detail and pride in your craft

Strong interpersonal communication skills
