Eaton\u2019s AER MSD Mission System Division is currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer. This role is based in Davenport, IA. Relocation assistance will be provided within the hiring country only. \u200b\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPosition Overview: \nThe primary function of this position is to lead electrical /electronics development supporting design, analysis, and testing. \n \nThe individual will be responsible for leading Oxygen projects consisting of development of electrical and electronics hardware. This includes development of requirements, adherence to local and industry processes and standards, design direction, analysis, and verification. This individual will be seen as a subject matter expert within the team, taking on the most complex projects and providing oversight to projects within the Oxygen team, along with providing mentoring to fellow engineers. This role can be involved in all aspects of product engineering including new product introduction, product support, bid and proposal, and innovation. \n \nEssential Functions: \n\u2022 Responsibility as electrical engineering lead for engineering development of complex electrical projects including: requirements development, electrical system design, PCB design, analysis, and verification. \n\u2022 Provides support to management on technical direction of projects and processes. \n\u2022 Participates in technology roadmap development \n\u2022 Design for and ensure adherence to MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and DO-160 requirements as applicable. \n\u2022 Application of Design for Six Sigma tools and methods to drive product robustness \n\u2022 Uses and champions structured problem-solving technique, such as 8Ds, with strong communication/presentation skills for reporting status to customers and/or senior management. \n\u2022 Actively engages engineering team members to evaluate design ideas, provide mentoring, and support successful product development \n\u2022 Participate in internal and external design reviews for development projects. \n\u2022 Attend internal design reviews conducted by the team or other engineering design teams, as a subject matter expert. \n\u2022 Prepare and conduct design reviews and RCCA report-outs directly with customer. \n\u2022 Engineering proposals, selecting the best design concept solution including compliance to customer specifications and industry regulatory requirements. Estimate electrical engineering effort required for new projects and outline the proposed design concept accurately enough for project and unit cost to be estimated. \n\u2022 Develop relationships with Eaton\u2019s global engineering teams and leverage the team for execution on programs, development of skills, sharing of best practices, and enhancement of processes.\n\n#LI-LD1\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Electronics Engineering from an ABET accredited university. \n\u2022 Minimum 5 years of professional experience with electrical hardware and electronics design. \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\u2022 You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible and considered for this position pursuant to applicable U.S. Federal Government contract requirements. \n \n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Master\u2019s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited program. \n\u2022 7 years of Electrical Engineering experience \n\u2022 5 years experience as a leader of product development efforts with requirements development, validation, and verification, direct customer engagement, technical solutions development, systems documentation, and root cause problem solving. \n\u2022 Experience with PCB design and analysis preferred \n\u2022 Knowledge of aerospace component test methods and capabilities \n\u2022 Ability to interpret aerospace technical requirement and knowledge of industry standard requirements \n\u2022 Knowledge of standard aerospace manufacturing processes and ability to design for manufacturability \n\u2022 Experience with Structured Problem Solving practices including the use of Six Sigma methods.\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Experience with electronic design and analysis \n\u2022 Experience with mechanical hardware associated with electrical equipment \n\u2022 Experience with testing and evaluation of electronics \n\u2022 Experience with engineering processes/tools required \n\u2022 Experience with technology development and integration into new products required \n\u2022 Ability to lead electrical engineering aspects of projects from inception to qualification \n\u2022 Ability to lead product investigations using structured problem solving techniques \u2022 Experience with RTCA DO-254 preferred \n\u2022 Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), EMI/EMC testing \u0026 analysis preferred \n\u2022 Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members \n\u2022 Ability to build strong cross functional working relationships \n\u2022 Ability to mentor engineers\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
