Job Description - Lead Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer, with an opportunity to have a significant impact on the business. You'll apply the latest technologies, equipment, and research facilities to bring your ideas to life. Your responsibilities will consist of product development, sustainability, and research. This role is encouraged to champion technology that enables sophisticated features and solutions to improve customer experience and drive growth. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO:

Design and develop electronics for new products, including cordless, intelligent, and connected professional tools
Lead the circuit design for power electronics, mixed-signal, and embedded systems, including requirements development, analysis, and simulation
Perform schematic capture and PCBA layout, while applying design best practices and relevant standards
Specify and assist in the execution of development, product qualification, safety and regulatory compliance testing
Conduct concept feasibility assessments and technical risk evaluations for new and emerging technologies
Provide technical leadership and mentoring for junior engineers, including hands-on troubleshooting, and debugging
Provide ad-hoc product-life-cycle support including field investigations and manufacturing and supply-chain issue resolution
Ensure the successful transition of designs from development to production by crafting manufacturing and test specifications



WHO YOU ARE:

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 10 or more years of relevant work experience or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 8 or more years of relevant work experience
Experience with schematic capture and PCBA layout
Functional knowledge of test equipment and procedures
Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

Experience with design of power electronics for safety and EMC compliance standards (UL, CSA, CE, FCC, etc.)
Experience with design of mass-produced electronics (PCBAs, cable assemblies, etc.)
Experience with embedded systems using microcontrollers, particularly in the areas of motor control and connectivity
Familiarity with functional safety and safety critical system design
Experience with electronics reliability modeling
Design of rechargeable battery-powered systems
Experience with electronics thermal management
