Job Purpose

To provide technical expertise and support from an engineering perspective to ensure safe and effective implementation of Utility-Owned Thermal Energy Networks (UTENs). This job plays a prominent role in ensuring the company implements its UTENs in accordance with the Utility Thermal Energy Network and Jobs Act (UTENJA).
Key Accountabilities

Perform basic or standard engineering analysis and provide recommendations associated with installation and implementation of UTENs.
Ensure the company implements its UTENs in accordance with the Utility Thermal Energy Network and Jobs Act (UTENJA) enacted by the Senate in July 2022.
Coordination with stakeholders as the asset management representatives
Collaboration with the engineering consultant to upskill the team on thermal energy network design and installation.
Technical support to all aspects of the customer acquisition and education tasks
Technical job site visits and design review
On-site technical support during the construction phase of the projects
Attendance and coordination during Regulatory meetings related to the progression of the pilot projects.
Knowledge sharing among MA/NY technical teams and the wider National Grid workforce.
Modeling of UTEN projects in modeling software
Qualifications

A bachelors degree in engineering or technology from an ABET accredited engineering school
Knowledge of relevant geothermal and/or waste heat network industry practice, standards, and legislation
Knowledge of current trends within the geothermal and waste heat network industry and developments in legislation or regulation
Need to possess a drivers license with safe driving history required.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Work in a Project Management team environment
Adapts approach and considers what is important to the audience and tailors message accordingly.
Actively builds and maintains a network of relationships, outside normal business contacts.
Takes personal responsibility for correcting problems promptly and undefensively and communicates engineering customer expectations to monitor delivery of engineering projects and satisfaction.
Proactively makes changes to improve performance, efficiency and effectiveness of processes, for example challenge existing engineering procedures and highlight areas for improvement.
Possesses positive expectations for team members and expresses regard for them.
Is receptive to change and is willing to change ideas or opinions based on new information or contrary evidence.
More Information

Salary - $139,000 - $164,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
