Serve as technical lead for development and manufacturing improvement projects, owning technical direction, evaluating scalability, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks to achieve project objectives, while providing clear, data-driven technical recommendations and decisions.
Serve as Project Manager of R&D NDP Projects, leading stage-gate execution while coordinating timelines, costs, and resources to achieve desired business objectives.
Lead plant coating trial preparation, planning, and execution, including design, build, and operation of R&D chemical delivery systems and coordination with plant personnel to ensure successful execution.
Provide technical leadership and support for CVD lab activities, including equipment upgrades, capability enhancements, and experimental setups.
Technical Support
Provide hands-on technical support during production campaigns for new and existing coated products.
Support manufacturing sites with coating equipment troubleshooting, coater rebuilds, process optimization, defect identification, and corrective actions.
Mentor junior engineers and deliver training to plant and R&D personnel on coatings processes, products, and equipment to strengthen technical capability across R&D and manufacturing teams.
Serve as a key technical liaison between R&D and manufacturing to ensure alignment, prioritize support needs, and establish an effective, structured technical support model; coordinate and track initiatives and monitor support effectiveness.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety standards, MOC processes, and risk management practices (PFMEA, hazard analysis, etc.).
Promote and reinforce a strong safety culture across laboratory and plant environments.
Ensure alignment with quality systems and product requirements during development, scale-up, and support
Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or similar technical degree.
8+ years of experience in float glass production, glass coating, or glass processing (bending, tempering, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and deliver results
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or structured problem-solving methodologies
Ability to travel estimated at 25%
Qualifications Desired:
Experience in scaling technologies from lab to manufacturing
Proven track record of innovation and successful commercialization
Experience with experimental design and data interpretation
