Job Description - Lead Engineer-Process Standards & Integration

Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer – Process Standards & Integration is responsible for driving Bid–Sell–Execute standards and ITR process excellence for Heavy Duty New Unit (HDNU) ITR projects. This role focuses on developing, standardizing, and continuously improving ITR processes to ensure projects are executed consistently and meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) KPIs.
The role works closely with Engineering, Equipment Planning, Project Management, Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Lines, Sourcing, and Quality to improve scheduling effectiveness, process maturity, and overall execution performance. The Lead Engineer champions LEAN principles, drives data based decision making, and ensures scalable, standardized solutions across the ITR organization.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Process Standards & Integration

  • Drive and govern Bid–Sell–Execute standards for HDNU ITR projects to improve execution consistency and SQDC performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard ITR processes, tools, and templates across projects and regions.
  • Ensure alignment and integration of ITR processes across Engineering, Equipment Planning, and Project Execution teams.
  • Lead a data sub-team consisting of contractors and GE employees to maximize SQDC KPIs, integrate cross-functional data sources for ITR visibility, and automate data workflows
  • Work with product team to ensure products are ready for ITR
  • Identify and eliminate process waste, reducing touch‑times and hand‑offs across the execution lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement & LEAN

  • Champion LEAN principles across the Heavy Duty ITR organization, including PSR, Kaizen events, and process maturity models.
  • Challenge the status quo and proactively identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and productivity improvement.
  • Lead data analysis and automation initiatives to enable fact‑based decision making and continuous improvement.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Lines, Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and PMO to resolve execution challenges and deliver customer‑focused solutions.
  • Effectively communicate process changes, project solutions, and performance insights to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Serve as a role model for GE Vernova Way behaviors: Innovation, Customer Focus, Lean, One Team, and Accountability.

Accountability & Leadership

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for functional deliverables and business objectives.
  • Lead improvement initiatives and programs with clear milestones, outcomes, and KPI impact.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of experience in ITR processes, engineering, and/or project execution.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to lead programs and improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated project management capability in a matrixed environment.
  • Knowledge of Gas Turbine, Generator, Steam Turbine, and HRSG product lines, with plant‑level systems understanding.
  • Experience driving global ITR process improvements.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all organizational levels and external customers.
  • Self‑starter with a positive attitude and a track record of delivering results in fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset with the ability to influence and implement change.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed, global team environment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
