Job Description - Lead Enterprise Architect - Telework Hybrid

This position is located at the Sacramento DMV Headquarters.

Under the administrative direction of the Information Systems Division, Governance Branch Chief Information Technology (IT) Manager II, the IT Specialist III serves as a highly skilled Enterprise Architect Lead within the Enterprise Architecture Unit. The IT Specialist III plays a crucial role in designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining the DMV's comprehensive enterprise architecture, which includes a variety of applications, services, and infrastructure within the technological environment. a diverse team of State and contractor staff across different levels, eliminating obstacles to project activities within the scope of enterprise architecture services. The incumbent meets regularly with the project teams to review compliance of the software being developed under the purview of the project with DMV's enterprise architecture standards and best practices.

The IT Specialist III spearheads the exploration and assessment of emerging technologies, suggesting enhancements to boost IT efficiency and optimize technology resource utilization. This role involves conducting market analysis and preparing architectural evaluations. Keeping up with the DMV's business strategies and long-term goals, the specialist proposes solutions to achieve these objectives. By collaborating closely with business units, the specialist gains an understanding of their processes, ensuring technology, and procedural solutions align with business requirements. Furthermore, the role entails developing, documenting, and advocating for key principles, policies, standards, and guidelines.

Telework available. Telework requires California residency.

This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818 .Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.

Desirable Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.Advanced certifications relevant to enterprise architecture, such as TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), Zachman Framework, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.Minimum of six (6) years of experience in an IT architecture role, with a demonstrated track record of developing and implementing enterprise architecture strategies and solutions.Extensive experience in project management, including planning, executing, and overseeing large-scale IT projects.Proven expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable IT systems, and infrastructure.Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.Comprehensive knowledge of current and emerging IT trends, technologies, and software.Familiarity with state and federal IT regulations, standards, and best practices.Domains: Business Technology Management, IT Project Management, and Client Services.
