What We Need
At Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, we have an exciting opportunity for an energetic & passionate Lead Full-Stack Engineer to help innovate, integrate, and manage technology solutions directly related to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts’s MyBlue website and mobile applications, which deliver innovative and intuitive digital experiences to our members.
As a technology driver, you will collaborate with enterprise architecture, solutions design, development, product management and business teams to ensure highly reliable, extensible, maintainable and scalable features and platforms. As a technology leader and hands-on architect, you will significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects while collaborating with our talented team to create and implement innovative high-quality solutions as well as participating in product strategy and planning exercises.
This role is eligible for our Flex persona.
Your Day to Day
Leads end-to-end implementation of software applications to meet the business needs of the enterprise, exceeding expectations in design, performance, resilience, and security
Leads & owns implementation of modern distributed software development patterns and captures best practices to simplify application design and development
Mentors and guides engineers on engineering tasks through code reviews and provides feedback for continuous improvement
Collaborates with solution and enterprise architects to develop solutions adhering to the target state vision and industry standard design patterns
Responsible for developing frameworks to accelerate development and abstract complexity
Develops and evangelizes automation to optimize operational processes
Oversees creation and maintenance of technical documentation and user guides in support of developed software
Maintains high-level of familiarity with BCBSMA IT system/business application capabilities in order to make critical operational & design decisions
Champions innovation through experimentation and leads adoption of new tools and technology"
Effectively communicates project expectations, issues, risks, and decisions to project team and business stakeholder related to MyBlue web & app implementation.

We’re Looking for & What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
8+ years of full-stack development experience (Java background)
6+ years of hands-on experience with one or more front-end technologies (Angular, React, Flutter, Swift, Objective-C, etc.) & back-end technologies (Java, SpringBoot) as well as industry standard IDE tools or platforms (Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, Salesforce, HRIS, etc.)
Understanding of AWS (preferred) and/or Google Cloud, API gateway
4 or more years of hands-on experience with REST APIs & other middleware development tools
Experience with PCF/Tanzoo a Plus
3 or more years of experience with DevSecOps tools & Implementation experience.
Healthcare experience / Insurance industry experience required

Salary Range: $138,870.00 - $169,730.00
The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
