POSITION:    Lead Grounds Worker

ABOUT OUR LOCATION
 

The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind North Campus is located in Decatur, Alabama. The campus occupies a beautiful location that sits on Highway 31 in South Decatur. This is a recently created campus that, although under construction, is already home to a number of AIDB departments and staff. The expansion of programs in Decatur creates new opportunities and challenges as the campus is being created all while we continue to serve the local communities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead Grounds Worker is responsible for maintaining and improving Campus grounds. 

Assigned work such as mowing, trimming, leaf removal and duties related to inclement weather, such as snow removal, which may fluctuate by season. The Lead Grounds Worker may be responsible for oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the groundskeeping operation.
 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

You will play a vital role to ensure that AIDB’s campuses are kept to a presentable standard. In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that the AIDB North campus is maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and presentation. Thriving in a self-driven environment, you will bridge the gap between strategy and execution—collaborating seamlessly with administrators, managing daily work orders, and supervising external contractors as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

● High School diploma or equivalent.

● Three (3) years accumulative position related experience

● Valid Driver License & Ability to be insured by carrier

● Must meet suitability/background requirements for employment

SALARY:  Scale C5-46      $22.22 - $26.72

                  260 days
