Lead Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Duties:

• Responsible for reading plans, setting grades, excavating according to specs. 
• Responsible for site safety of the crew and crew scheduling Comply with all safety regulations, policies, and record-keeping
• Responsible for maintaining work goals set by project manager, direct reporting daily progress and paperwork utilizing Procore  
• Additional duties include leading and assisting a piping/tank crew in installing petroleum tanks, piping, and sumps 
• Perform daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling 

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Highschool Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 5 years excavator experience; must be skilled at operating an excavator and have foreman experience
• Able to install sheet pile utilizing an excavator mounted driver (min 1-2 years exp) fine grade, deep excavation, load trucks efficiently, comfortable in close range of fellow employees, dewatering, and Petroleum equipment installation experience a plus
• Procore experience a plus
• Must be willing to get in and out of the machine to pitch in with digging and running a piping and managing a crew and providing a safe work place
• Must be willing to learn specialized petroleum piping installation (hold and maintain certifications) 
• Experience operating excavators, wheel loader, skid steer and other yard equipment 
• Ability to inspect equipment and operate equipment in a safe manner and follow safety protocol. 
• Excellent communication and leadership skills. 
• Strong work ethic – dependable with consistent attendance, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and start by 7am. 
• Must be able to physically climb up and down equipment and ladders safely. 
• Must be willing to travel, SC, NC, GA
• Responsible for managing a crew of 3-5 employees, daily safety meetings, good time management skills
• Physical Requirements: Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds, frequent bending, stooping, standing 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to meet company’s employment requirements, which includes passing a drug screen, criminal background check, and MVR, if driving for the company
