Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead House Cook to join our team and oversee the culinary operations at our women's residential treatment center. The Lead House Cook will play a vital role in providing nutritious meals and snacks to our clients, contributing to weekly meal planning while adhering to dietary guidelines and preferences. Additionally, the Lead House Cook will maintain kitchen cleanliness standards according to Joint Commission guidelines, ensure proper inventory management, and cook meals for our clients. This role may also involve operating as a Direct Care Technician (DCT) as needed and performing other duties as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for clients, following established recipes and portion sizes throughout the day.
Collaborate with team members and clients to meet nourishment goals developed for clients.
Maintain inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
Order groceries and other necessary items for the kitchen, adhering to budgetary constraints.
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards are met according to Joint Commission guidelines.
Engage with clients during mealtimes, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
Monitor and follow food safety guidelines, ensuring proper food storage, handling, and preparation.
Be able to lift pots/pans and other typical kitchen equipment and grocery items safely.
Deliver healthy and balanced food options to clients, considering their nutritional needs.
Monitor equipment integrity and communicate any issues to the Supervisor promptly.
Operate as a Direct Care Technician (DCT) as needed, providing direct care and support to clients.
Conduct nutrition education groups for residents.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or management team.

Strong organizational skills, including meal planning, inventory management, and ordering supplies.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a friendly personality.
Must be able to adapt to changing dietary requirements and client preferences.
Strong time management skills, able to meet deadlines, and work efficiently.
Ability to communicate effectively and model kindness and compassion towards clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
2-5 years of cooking experience, preferably in a residential or healthcare setting.
Experience managing a kitchen and overseeing meal preparation.
ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training. (Preferred)
Must be able to stand and climb stairs (2-story house) during shifts.
