Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa is seeking a skilled Lead HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Team. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll support the maintenance and performance of all HVAC systems across our beautiful mountain property, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Principle Purpose of Job

As the Lead HVAC Technician, you will take ownership of day-to-day HVAC operations, including system diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance. You’ll work closely with the Facilities Manager and team to support a high-quality guest and employee experience through safe, reliable, and efficient climate systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance, repair, and installation on HVAC systems, including air handler units, make-up air units, and boilers.
• Diagnose issues and troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, and basic electrical systems.
• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment longevity and efficiency.
• Respond to and complete HotSOS maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with the Facilities team and other departments to resolve HVAC-related concerns.
• Ensure work areas are safe, clean, and in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in training junior maintenance staff on HVAC best practices.
• Support other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities leadership team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on HVAC experience; leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Must hold valid and current HVAC licensing/certification (EPA, Universal, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and using electrical testing instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift for extended periods in various weather conditions.

Compensation Description:

$40.00 - $60.00/hr  Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.

Due to the nature of our 24-hour operation, there is no guaranteed work schedule. Managers will try to accommodate specific schedule requests, but they are never guaranteed if business volume prohibits.
