Job Description - Lead Line Cook - Hotel & Banquets

Description

We are looking for passionate individuals to join the kitchen team at Crowne Plaza. We are looking for a Line Cook to assist Executive Don Simmons and the team. We're open Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Candidates should be team-oriented, willing, and able to help on any station, comfortable in a high-paced environment and eager to learn.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Training and cultivating relationships with new hires, as well as ongoing staff development
  • Ability to deal with problems or concerns that arise in the BOH through the proper channels (conversations with employees and proper documentation)
  • Must be able to work and prep all stations consistently and complete all opening and closing duties in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to meet all expectations of Dhec rules and regulations, and train staff accordingly.
  • Must be flexible and willing to assist with banquets.
  • Ensuring all PM line cooks are prepared for dinner service.
  • Ensuring all line cooks open and close their stations properly, as well as filling out preparation sheets for the following shift and day.
  • Overseeing the opening and closing of the kitchen as scheduled, and have a willingness to be flexible with start and finish times
  • Working with the Chef on preparing orders and placing orders daily, communicating with purveyors and keeping availability sheets up to date.
  • Working with the Chef on coordinating and preparing lists with management and Sous Chef for large parties.
  • Assisting in creating menu specials/menu development (Lunch and Dinner)
  • Ensuring Market Place is properly stocked with specialty items and recorded on spread sheet
  • Assisting in creating employee meals menu specials/ menu (Lunch and breakfast specials0
  • Overseeing and adhering to a daily, weekly & monthly cleaning schedule
  • Overseeing and adhering to a daily and weekly prep schedule
  • A friendly, creative, exciting work environment in an open kitchen

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 -$20.00 based on experience!

Requirements

Experience:

  • Culinary experience: 4 years (Preferred)
  • Servsafe Certified or Food Handlers Certificate (Preferred)
