Job Description - Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Programmatic)
Owns manufacturing process development and standardization for product line programmatic jobs. Support development and design of capacity planning models for optimized loading and improved line utilization. Support sites to evaluate existing equipment and tooling for safety, capacity, capability and efficiency optimization. Develop detailed technical specifications for new equipment and management of capital projects. Develop standards for optimized workflow, material handling and workplace layout. Support sites with programmatic job launch and process validation. Work with design engineering to help incorporate design for manufacturing elements into product development. Provide training, guidance and technical support to site manufacturing personnel which may include mfg. engineers, technicians, and line operators. Support Lean, Six Sigma, and Pro Launch through the creation of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments, Control Plans, and Job Safety Analysis for production lines. Make vs buy analysis for assembly optimization. Work with industrialization team and sites to generate efficiency and technology roadmaps to sustain and drive line and cost optimization. Support EQS initiatives with particular focus on PFMEA and Control plans. Support development of standard work and work center instructions for all related programmatic processes. Work with sites on investment roadmaps to optimize capital and expenses. Serve as the product line programmatic manufacturing subject matter expert helping build capabilities across sites. Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, and capital management. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution. Six Sigma or Lean certifications Experience in manufacturing line design and implementation. Background in assembly processes which include wiring, metal components installation, material flow and replenishment, testing, packaging and on-line inspection. Strong background in complex assemblies, automation, process development and equipment selection. Proficient in PFMEA and process control. Desirable experience with metal transformation processes. Application of lean principles in Production line balancing and design Industrial Engineering software (Advanced AutoCAD / Inventor) Problem solving techniques and leadership. Ability to lead projects across multiple locations. Influential skills and change management. Able to teach, coach and mentor on process.
