Job Description
This engineering position requires the ability to design interconnect solutions for power distribution, RF, communication, and high-speed data signal. Responsibilities include all aspects of interconnect design, including the selection of the cable’s components (connectors, back shells, wire, shielding, sleeving), cable routing & cable management, and the ability to design to meet environmental,
shielding
, and other manufacturing requirements. Successful candidates will be members of a highly motivated, multi-disciplined, cross-functional design engineering team chartered specifically to champion interconnect engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
4 years
relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline;
2
years of relevant experience with a Masters’ degree;
8
years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Experience with NX or a similar 3D CAD application
Experience designing, documenting, and/or building
cables
(i.e. multi-conductor cables, fiber optic cables, RF cables, high speed data cables)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Design to Cost (DTC), Design for Supply Chain (DfSC), and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
Experience with Capital Logic or a similar schematic capture application
Experience with specifications such as SAE AS50881, MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160
Knowledge of commonly used signal types such as RS232, RS422, RS485, Audio, Ethernet, Fiber Optic Single Mode and Multi-Mode and High Frequency RF is strongly desired
