Lead Medical Assistant / X-Ray Technician

The Lead Medical Assistant / X-Ray Technician is a dual-role position responsible for providing high-quality clinical support, performing diagnostic X-ray procedures, and leading daily operations of the medical assistant team. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership duties to ensure efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical & X-Ray Duties

• Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with provider orders, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards
   
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explaining processes and ensuring comfort and safety
   
• Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, including routine quality control and reporting maintenance needs
   
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
   
• Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information accurately
   
• Administer injections, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks within scope of practice
   

Leadership & Team Oversight

• Lead, mentor, and support medical assistant staff in daily clinical operations
   
• Coordinate staff assignments, and room flow to optimize efficiency
   
• Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
   
• Serve as a point of contact for clinical questions and workflow issues
   
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and radiation safety standards
   

Administrative & Operational Support

• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the EHR system
   
• Manage clinical supplies and ensure exam rooms and imaging areas are properly stocked
   
• Collaborate with providers, front office staff, and management to improve patient care and clinic operations
   
• Assist with audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives

• Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
   
• Certified X-Ray Technician
   
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting
   
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience preferred
   
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and radiation safety
