Job Description

Schedule: Full Time

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with move-in assessments, service planning and other problem solving. 
  • Order, store and assist with medications according to community policy and procedures along with physician orders.
  • Transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record.
  • Perform resident care with an awareness of dignity and individuality, with understanding and concern. May be asked to provide assistance to residents in Memory Care, Assisted Living, or both.
  • Avoid loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment. Maintain a neat and orderly Medication Room.
  • Report deficiencies/problems observed in resident apartments, clothing/linen and community to Registered Nurse or Administrator.
  • Responding to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences and skills.

  • At minimum, 2 plus years of Medication Assistant/Technician experience required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Heimlich maneuver training and Food Handlers card preferred. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
