Job Description - Lead Nurse/Registered Nurse


UDR Consulting, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for a Lead Nurse / Registered Nurse opportunity in Aiken, SC to support the Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS).

Work Location: On-Site at SRNS

DUTIES
Practice as an occupational health nursing lead in accordance with Company policies outlined in Medical Department Policies and Procedures and other Site procedures. Comply with South Carolina State Nursing Practice Act and the requirements of OSHA, DOE and other government agencies as applicable. Maintain, inspect, and inventory equipment, instruments, supplies and drugs.
Ensure the necessary equipment and supplies are available to meet needs.
  •  May Lead Health Information Specialist of all services include input into Medical Information system.
  • Manage accurate and legible treatment records, documenting all patient contacts objectively
  • Maintain and manage confidentiality of all medical information
  • Provide technical knowledge and support to medical programs and projects
  • Oversee technical activities for patient testing and data entry (spirometry, audiometry, electrocardiogram, EMBOS)
  • Function as customer interface and liaison for the clinic
  • Assist management with performance assessment of employees to determine strengths and areas of improvement in job
  • Function as a staff nurse when required
Specific Duties
  • Provide occupational nursing support to SRS operations.
  • Evaluations and treatment of on and off-the-job illness/injuries. 
  • Determine fitness for duty and return of work status of employees. 
  • Provide emergency care for employees. 
  • Perform medical testing for health surveillance exams. 
  • Assist physicians with physical exams. 
  • Document services in the Medical Information Services electronic health record. Maintain confidentiality of all medical information. 
  • Any duties as requested by the nurse manager and / or site medical director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education: 
  • Bachelors (BS) Degree in Nursing, 3-year Nursing diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing
 
Experience/Skills:
  • Minimal of 3 years' experien ce, including expertise in electrocardiograms. 
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
  • Valid and current malpractice insurance in the amount of $1million per occurrence and covering all services rendered under the subcontractor and maintained for the duration of the subcontract.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Candidate must be able to be respirator fit and wear a N95 mask
  • Oral and written communication skills to achieve success within the clinic setting.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • South Carolina Registered Nursing license Certified audiometric and pulmonary function are required after employment.
  • Area Security Access: Clearance not required. Uncleared.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor in Nursing or 3-year nursing diploma preferred. 
  • Experience in occupational or emergency room preferred. 
  • Previous supervisory experience in healthcare desirable. Audiometric and pulmonary function certification preferred.
  • Certified Occupational Nursing preferred.

Work Hours: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/l 0' s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80' s (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch . Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
