What You’ll Do:

As the Lead Paint Technician - SME, you’ll be the go-to expert on professional spray gun techniques and finishing standards. You’ll lead a team of painters, train them on best practices, and ensure consistent, high-quality finishes on composite parts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate daily painting operations (manual and robotic).


• Train team members on spray gun techniques, surface prep, and troubleshooting.


• Perform and oversee application of primers, basecoats, and topcoats using HVLP and air-assisted systems.


• Supervise robotic painting systems and ensure quality alignment.


• Inspect painted parts for defects and ensure adherence to specifications.


• Maintain spray booths and enforce safety and PPE protocols.


• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve coating issues.


• Identify and implement process improvements.

What You Bring:

• Expertise in HVLP, airless, or air-assisted spray systems.


• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, masking, and finishing.


• Ability to train others and lead a team effectively.


• Automotive or high-finish painting experience is a strong plus.


• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.


• 3-5 years of hands-on spray painting experience; 1-2 years in a leadership role preferred.


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a PPE-required environment.
