Job Description - Lead PLM Configuration Specialist, eero Packaging & PLM Team

DESCRIPTION

As Lead PLM Configuration Specialist you help refine Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) business processes and manage BOM configurations throughout the product lifecycle. Your day to day is to support creation and execution of change orders requiring cross functional communication across multiple time-zones. You anticipate business needs and proactively support creating Orderable SKUs, Mechanical BOM, PCBA BOM, FW, and PCB part numbers which support the backbone of NPI, forecasting, and builds. You promote best practices and internal business processes for PLM change management by ensuring supporting data is provided for all changes. You are an individual who is highly responsive with ownership, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You must be motivated to work in a data driven environment and play a key NPI product team member to release programs to mass production. The specialist defines and reports metrics for PLM Change management from creation to factory implementation. You work often with Asia based teammates by joining Core Team meetings and program meetings.

Key job responsibilities
-Collaborate with HW Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and other supporting functions in order to accurately structure new products and document product changes as part of the product development, continuous improvement, and sustaining engineering processes
-Manage the BOM fidelity by creating, routing, and releasing changes within PLM tool (Arena).
-Create BOMs and change orders for hardware devices, accessories, packaging for both NPI and RMA programs.
-Enable, enforce, and execute eero PLM business processes
-Drive daily configuration meetings which interface with all key internal customers and in order to meet change control SLA.
-Provide clear expectations around input, lead-times, and deadlines to the Program Team on part creation, BOM releases, changes, and documentation related to product data management
-Develop a deep understanding of eero BOM structure and strategy, enforce proper BOM structure that scales to support the eero business
-Extreme attention to detail and ability to operate comfortably in an environment with a target of zero error rate
-Track implementation of changes at factory and supplier through reporting of PLM Metrics.
-Participate in continuous process improvements focused on business process efficiency, tools utilization, and metrics reporting
-Create content for training and execute training for teammates and suppliers in PLM processes
-Recommend, define, and implement strategy changes to PLM documentation and processes
-Recommend, define, and implement tools and processes to support sustainability and social responsibility initiatives within our PLM system

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years’ experience in creating and managing BOM’s in high tech or engineering environments
- The ability to define a Bill of Materials and manage document revision control
- Exceptional communication skills - both verbal and written in English required
- Demonstrates understanding of BOMs, BOM structures, documentation control philosophies for hardware, software and packaging components
- Demonstrates understanding of product release cycle as it relates to the creation and change management of parts, assemblies, and BOMs
- Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and experience working in product lifecycle management applications such as Agile, Arena, or comparable PLM tools
- Proven ability to work with and influence peers and management and facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests
- Previous experience with EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP phase structures for NPI

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Managed BOMs and Change Order Processes for consumer electronics products

The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market.
