Job Description - Lead Power Electronics Engineer

Eaton\u2019s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Lead Power Electronics Engineer. Relocation offered.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $105000 - $154000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nEaton is looking for a Lead Power Electronics Engineer for its Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE) to develop innovative solutions for our power conversion products. \n\nEaton\u2019s PE CoE accelerates the company\u2019s growth through the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provide a foundation for our business to develop innovative products more rapidly.\n\nThis individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing power electronics circuits, platforms, and systems for power conversion and circuit protection applications. \n\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\u2022 Lead power electronics design and development, taking full ownership of assigned tasks. \n\u2022 Design, model, simulate, and develop power electronics, including analog and digital circuits for power conversion and protection. \n\u2022 Develop technical requirements and create reports and presentations. \n\u2022 Build and test circuits, analyze data, and optimize designs for performance, size, cost, manufacturability, and reliability. \n\u2022 Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineers to develop and validate designs.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic (Required) Qualifications: \n-Bachelor\u0027s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 6 years work experience in power electronics designs and product development OR Master\u0027s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 4 years work experience in power electronics designs and product development \n-Minimum 4 years of experience in power electronics modeling, simulation, and analysis experience using tools like Simulink, SPICE, or PLECS \n-Minimum 4 years of experience with power converter hardware development and testing \n-Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n-This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. \u00a7 1158.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n-MS or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or equivalent with focus on power electronics. \n-Strong knowledge of power semiconductors, passive components (e.g., high-frequency magnetics, power capacitors), and analog/digital circuit designs. \n-Experience with modern converter topologies, including AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC (both non-isolated and isolated). \n-Thorough understanding of PCB layout, EMC/EMI design practices, voltage clearance/creepage requirements, and insulation/interconnection techniques. \n-Experience in power electronics system development, including development of power electronics system architecture and requirements\n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n-Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual. \n-Strong communication and presentation skills. \n-Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and technical documents. \n-Position requires up to 10% travel\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
