Lonestar Integrated Solutions is seeking an experienced and licensed Power System Studies Engineer to help lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of power systems analysis, electrical engineering principles, and experience in conducting system studies to support the design, operation, and optimization of power grids and electrical infrastructure. This role requires proficiency in advanced power system software, strong analytical and leadership skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or oversee the production of power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, harmonic, and arc flash hazard analysis as well as protective device coordination.
  • Develop, modify, and validate electrical system models using industry-standard software tools (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, SKM).
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise and solutions.
  • Build accurate models of power systems to simulate and assess the behavior of electrical grids under both normal and fault conditions.
  • Assist and review the development of proposals, feasibility studies, and project reports.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in power systems engineering and actively contribute to the team's knowledge base.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution. 
  • 5-7 years of experience in power systems engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and voltage drop analysis.
  • Familiarity with electrical distribution systems and relevant industry standards.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, PSS/E, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required infrequently. 
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
