Job Description - Lead Process Improvement Partner

As a strategic partner to Business Unit leadership, you will shape and execute a portfolio of high-impact operational improvement initiatives aligned to enterprise priorities. Combining expertise in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with a strong understanding of operations, you will identify improvement opportunities and lead high-impact projects that align with organization goals. You will serve as a trusted advisor, translating strategy into actionable improvement roadmaps that deliver measurable financial and operational value.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * Manage the entire life cycle of improvement projects from scoping, planning, and executing to measuring results. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and demonstrate measurable value to the organization.\n * Partner with Business Unit leaders to develop and prioritize a strategic improvement roadmap aligned to organizational goals.\n * Conduct detailed analysis to identify performance gaps, root causes, and areas for improvement. Present findings to stakeholders and provide recommendations based on quantitative and qualitative insights.\n * Provide objective, data-driven recommendations and constructively challenge current-state assumptions to drive better business outcomes.\n * Collaborate across assigned Business Unit to drive process changes. Apply change management principles to foster engagement, overcome resistance, and achieve sustainable adoption.\n * Lead cross-functional initiatives in a highly matrixed environment, influencing stakeholders without direct authority.\n * Provide guidance and coaching to process improvement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.\n * Build continuous improvement capability within the Business Unit by coaching leaders and teams in structured problem-solving, decision-making, and performance management practices.\n * Create and refine standardized processes and tools for consistent improvement practices across the organization. This includes developing documentation, templates, and training materials.\n * Develop and implement process optimization strategies to streamline workflows, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure quality outcomes.\n * Prepare detailed reports, process maps, and improvement plans for leadership review and implementation.\n * Track, measure, and communicate the impact of improvement initiatives on key performance indicators (KPIs).\n * Partner with Finance to validate financial impact, including cost savings, cost avoidance, revenue enhancement, and productivity gains. Own value realization tracking post-implementation.\n * Support the Sr. Director, Operational Excellence in identifying new improvement opportunities that align with organizational priorities.\n * Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in process improvement and operational excellence.\n * Leverage data analytics and visualization tools to translate performance insights into actionable recommendations.\n * Participate in governance forums to provide visibility into initiative progress, risks, and value delivery.\n\n\n\nQualifications:\n\n * Relevant degree preferred; advanced degree desired.\n * 7 or more years of relevant experience required.\n * Strong expertise in Lean and other process improvement methodologies, with a proven track record of delivering measurable results.\n * Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred. Change management certification (e.g., Prosci) preferred.\n * Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to completion.\n * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.\n * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.\n * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing business needs and priorities.\n * Experience driving improvement initiatives within healthcare or healthcare-adjacent environments preferred.\n * Demonstrated success leading in matrixed organizations without direct reporting authority.\n * Willingness to travel.\n\n\n\nEstimated Hiring Range:\n\nAt Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $102,400.00 to $179,000.00.\n\nThis position is also incentive eligible.\n\nVizient has a comprehensive benefits plan!
