Lead Public Safety Assistant - Vehicle Escort Shack

CLASS SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of designated department employees. This role oversees the Airfield Operations Area ramp escort services and ramp-side operations. Provides guidance, support, and direction to employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Management responsibility to include supervision, delegation and review of assigned work, performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, employee development, scheduling and application of organizational policies and procedures.


• Ensures personnel are compliant with all Federal, State, Local, and CVG Airport aviation regulations including non-movement area driving and security inspections.


• Acts as an escort lead when primary escort is unavailable, ensuring personnel are properly escorted onto the secure airport ramp area and vehicles and permits have been inspected properly.


• Uses computer-based systems to manage reporting and operational tracking in support of compliance and daily functions.


• Processes payroll when needed, ensuring time management systems are completed accurately.


• Prepares and develops documents relating to department goals, policies and future needs.


• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Minimum Education:  HSD/GED

Minimum Years of Direct Experience:  3

Details: 

Related experience in law enforcement, security, airport, or military.

Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS

Required

• Valid Driver’s License


• Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance


• Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training

Additional Security Levels Required

• Ability to obtain and maintain position appropriate Federal security clearance

Airfield Driving

This position requires driving on the airfield area.

DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE OF

• Proper identification as prescribed by Kenton County Airport Board;


• Large Vehicle Improvised Explosive Devices (LVIED);


• Customer service

DEMONSTRATED SKILL IN

• Clearly and effectively communicating both orally and in writing.


• Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, graphs and spreadsheets.


• Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.


• Safely operating a vehicle and ramp driving access.


• Use of handheld metal detector.
