Job Description - Lead Quality Engineer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Quality Engineer based onsite at our Fibrebond manufacturing campus in Minden, LA. Relocation assistance is available to candidates who currently reside in the US. \u200b \n\nThe Lead Quality Engineer is a results\u2011driven technical leader responsible for deploying the Eaton Quality System, methods, and tools to eliminate and prevent quality issues, reduce Cost of Non-Conformance, and elevate organizational capability. This role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) processes. In addition, the successful candidate will assist on quality and production processes, i.e., Call Back reports, Quality Reports, Revision Logs, Calibrated Tools, tracking data from FAT inspection punch lists, customer Audits and document control. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n * Quality Leadership \u0026 Performance Management:\n * Lead manufacturing quality processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives\n * Be directly responsible and accountable for quality performance\n * Revise, create, and controls Quality Manuals and Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).\n * Creates and revises works instructions for the production teams\n * Verifies Mil certs are accurate and current\n * Advanced Problem Solving \u0026 Issue Resolution:\n * Lead structured problem-solving (8D, A3, PFMEA, root cause analysis)\n * Prioritize and lead complex investigations across engineering, suppliers, and operations\n * Quality Systems, Compliance \u0026 Preventive Controls:\n * Design and maintain QMS processes and documentation\n * Ensure compliance EQMS requirements\n * Maintain in-process verification, inspection plans, and preventive controls\n * Supplier Quality \u0026 External Collaboration:\n * Lead supplier quality activities including PPAP and corrective actions\n * Partner with suppliers and customers to strengthen quality system confidence \n * Customer Focus \u0026 Audit Excellence:\n * Resolve customer issues with urgency\n * Facilitate audits and demonstrate compliance\n * New Product Development (NPD) \u0026 Continuous Improvement:\n * Support NPD within Pro-Launch\n * Drive error-proofing and source-based quality control\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic (required) Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution.\n * Three (3) years of experience in engineering or quality, working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.\n * One (1) year of hands-on experience in an ISO-9001 certified environment.\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.\n * Five (5) years of experience as a quality engineer supporting a large industrial/manufacturing environment.\n * Three (3) years of experience with ISO-9001.\n * Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Lean Six Sigma Certification, or ISO Lead Auditor Certification.\n * Previous experience working within a quality management system.\n\n\n\n## Additional Information: \n\nSkills:\n\n * Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to engage in conversation with a variety of employees, contractors, guests, visitors, etc. in a positive and professional manner.\n * Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in recordkeeping and reporting.\n * Ability to make independent decisions with the skills to work collaboratively with others. \n\n\n\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Works directly with Assistant Supervisors, Supervisors, Managers, and employees to develop strong and collaborative working relationships.\n * Utilizes proper PPE (including protective eyewear, hearing protection, a hard hat and steel-toed footwear), safety equipment, and follows all safety procedures.\n * Ability and willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, including cold and heat.\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
