Job Description - Lead Registered Behavior Technician


Position: Lead Registered Behavior Technician (Lead RBT)

Location: Inglewood, CA

Forte Behavioral Health LLC is committed to fostering positive change in the lives of children with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to empower children to embrace their unique learning capabilities. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Lead Registered Behavior Technician (Lead RBT) to join our team.

This role combines direct student support with leadership and administrative responsibilities.

Candidates must hold an active RBT certification.

Compensation
$28 - $34 per hour, depending on experience and education.

Work Schedule
Mon-Fri, daytime hours, following the Inglewood Unified School District calendar (August - June).

Minimum Education
High School Diploma and/or some college studies (preferred).

Who Are We Looking For?

We are seeking an experienced and motivated RBT who not only has the patience and adaptability necessary to foster a nurturing learning environment, but also the leadership skills to guide and support less experienced staff. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to balance both billable and non-billable responsibilities in support of our mission.

Key Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Driver's license and reliable transportation is a must.

  • Strong proficiency in English, including grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.

  • Basic understanding of mathematics.

  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.

  • Physically fit enough to maintain an active role in the classroom and playground.

  • Previous experience working with children.

  • RBT Certification is required.

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or training peers (preferred).

  • Familiarity with administrative duties such as scheduling, reviewing documentation, or assisting with recruitment (preferred).

Responsibilities

Direct Student Support (Billable Duties)

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Behavior Specialist, targeting specific behavioral goals outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Provide direct support to students with behavioral challenges, delivering interventions and strategies in various school settings (e.g., classroom, playground, cafeteria).

  • Utilize positive behavior support techniques and reinforcement strategies to teach replacement behaviors, social skills, and coping strategies.

  • Collect data on student behavior and progress, using behavior tracking systems and data collection tools to monitor effectiveness of interventions.

  • Collaborate with school staff, including teachers, administrators, and support personnel, to create a cohesive support system.

  • Communicate regularly with the BCBA/Behavior Specialist regarding student progress and intervention fidelity.

  • Participate in team meetings and student support meetings as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to ethical guidelines.

Leadership & Administrative (Non-Billable Duties)

  • Support and train less experienced Registered Behavior Technicians, Behavior Technicians, and Instructional Assistants.

  • Assist with training for new employees and provide ongoing professional support.

  • Provide CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training to staff as needed.

  • Assist the Office Manager with onboarding new staff members.

  • Contribute to recruiting and interviewing efforts for new hires.

  • Review timesheets and daily service logs to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Assist with scheduling staff assignments as needed.

  • Provide general office and administrative support in coordination with the Office Manager.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Experience working with students with behavioral challenges, preferably in a school, home, or clinical setting.

  • Knowledge of behavioral principles and evidence-based interventions for behavior management.

  • Completion of training in behavior intervention techniques and strategies.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor others.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and take direction from supervising BCBA/Behavior Supervisor.
