About the Role
Created Solutions is seeking a Lead Requirements Engineer to provide technical leadership in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Directorate for Test (DT) Targets Systems Engineering Office.
This role is mission-critical to shaping the next generation of target vehicles—including reentry vehicles, hypersonic glide vehicles, boosters, and countermeasures—ensuring test environments accurately represent evolving threats to U.S. missile defense systems.
As the Requirements Lead, you will bring rigor, traceability, and compliance discipline to the development, assessment, and verification of complex aerospace requirements. You will engage directly with senior government leadership, program offices, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring technical soundness, mission alignment, and the success of high-visibility test campaigns.

What You’ll Do
- Lead Requirements Engineering: Serve as the Contractor Requirements Lead for DT Targets, guiding requirement development and allocation across all target and countermeasure programs.
- Develop System Requirements: Support the Systems Engineering & Integration team in creating and maintaining system-level and mission-specific requirements, specifications, and ICDs.
- Deliver Key Products: Lead development of allocation briefings, performance specifications, mission memoranda, and deviation/waiver packages.
- Shape New Capabilities: Drive requirements definition for new systems through feasibility studies, trade analyses, and requirements negotiations with MDA program offices.
- Apply Threat Intelligence: Integrate evolving threat assessments into baseline and mission performance requirements.
- Ensure Traceability & Compliance: Develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices and compliance assessments to meet MDA technical rigor.
- Provide Expert Guidance: Support senior leadership on high-profile programs including Defense of Guam, Glide Phase Interceptor, and Next Generation Interceptor.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with systems engineering, modeling & simulation, test, and safety analysis teams to ensure requirements are achievable and operationally relevant.
- Support Reviews & Risk Management: Contribute to technical reviews, readiness assessments, and failure review boards.
- Mentor Engineers: Guide junior systems engineers and foster best practices across Created Solutions and partner teams.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of success in requirements or systems engineering, with emphasis on missile defense programs.
- Proven expertise in requirements management tools and processes, including traceability and compliance verification.
- Strong ability to brief complex technical concepts to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with DoD and MDA acquisition frameworks, milestone reviews, and systems engineering processes.
- Experience developing and reviewing performance specifications, ICDs, and mission requirement sets for complex aerospace systems.
- Knowledge of target systems, reentry vehicles, launch vehicles, and countermeasures.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to build consensus across diverse teams.
- Professional certifications such as INCOSE ASEP/CSEP, PTC Creo/Windchill, or IBM DOORS.
- Understanding of MOSA-aligned standards (SOSA/CMOSS/FACE).
