Lead Security Engineer

2 YEAR BASE TERM, WITH POTENTIAL 1-YEAR EXTENSION.  PREFERENCE IS ABILITY TO WORK ONSITE IN SACRAMENTO, CA, THOUGH REMOTE WORK MAY BE ABLE TO BE NEGOTIATED. 

Mandatory Qualifications

·  Seven (7) years of full-time equivalent (FTE) experience with developing and implementing technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

·  Possess a bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

·  Two (2) years of FTE experience leading a team of Security Engineers responsible for reconfiguring and/or making changes to existing technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.

·  Two (2) years of FTE experience in at least two (2) of the technologies listed below:

• Enterprise Virtual Private Network (VPN)


• Identity and Access Management (IdAM)


• End Point Protection


• Enterprise Domain Name System (DNS)


• Network Access Control (NAC)


• Enterprise Virtual Environment


• Enterprise Cloud Security


• Active Directory


• Group Policy


• Mobile Device Management (MDM)


• Edge Protection/Firewalls


• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)


• Patching & Upgrading

Desirable Qualifications

• Relevant, up-to-date security and technology certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CompTIA Security+, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), etc.).


• Additional experience with any of the technologies listed below:
