Lead Software Developer

This is for a rapidly growing IoT company north of Chicago provides innovative best-in-class security solutions for enterprises. The system comprises of robust hardware devices, mobile apps, and cloud apps which utilizes the latest Bluetooth LE technology, advanced encryption algorithms, and cloud technologies. The leadership team is comprised of seasoned technology executives with decades of industry experience. The organization is expanding the customer base from the telecommunications industry to many other adjacent markets. 

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and committed Lead Software Developer to join their dynamic software development team to develop both cloud and mobile applications. 

Role: 

This position will be accountable for serving as the Lead Developer and contributing to all aspects of software development including architecture, design, implementation, documentation, testing and 2nd/3rd tier support. This position reports to the Director of Software Development. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Serve as a Lead Developer to assist with building an agile and scalable software development organization 
  


• Architect, design and assist in developing new enhancements for our software security suite  
  


• Develop software for both server and mobile applications 
  


• Deploy, maintain, and update software applications 
  


• Software documentation and process flowcharts 
  


• Assess, utilize, maintain and update development operational tools and frameworks 
  


• Interact with team members to learn, refine, coach and implement new capabilities 
  


• Assist with creating automated test suites for new and existing features 
  

Requirements

Qualifications: 

• 7+ years of software development experience including experience leading the design and implementation of browser-based applications, APIs, databases and user experience 
  


• 2+ years of JavaScript experience 
  


• Experience with Node.js, Angular, Python, MySQL, Git 
  


• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, and Go 
  


• Knowledge of security algorithms  
  


• Strict attention to detail, highly organized and efficient, self-managed 
  


• Broad experience in application development, architecture, and software project management 
  


• Served as a development lead on software development teams in the design, prototyping, implementation, and deployment of innovative products 
  


• Set technology roadmaps, assisted with coordinating DevOps initiatives and architected innovative cloud, enterprise, and smartphone solutions 
  


• Mentored fellow developers and champions software development best practices 
  


• Built operational tools and automated processes 
  


• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  


• Familiar with AWS cloud technologies 
  


• Experience with containerized technologies like Docker 
  


• Experience with serverless technologies like AWS lambda function 
  


• Knowledge of communication protocols like TCP/IP, Bluetooth LE
