About the Lead Software Engineer Role

• As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide and mentor a team of software engineers, overseeing the technical design, development, and delivery of complex software projects

• You will define technical requirements, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices for your product area or multiple teams

• You will conduct comprehensive code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards and quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices

• You will collaborate with product management, engineering leadership, and other stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives, manage project timelines and resources, and mitigate technical risks

• You will maintain a hands-on role in architecture and implementation while enabling your team to execute effectively and grow

About you as the Lead Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or  an advanced degree without experience; or  equivalent work experience.

• Extensive experience in software engineering, including significant experience leading teams or large technical initiatives

• Strong background in software architecture, system design, and highly scalable, resilient solutions

• Ability to set technical vision and strategy, solve strategic and cross-cutting technical problems, and anticipate future challenges

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience representing engineering in high-level discussions with product and business leaders

• Proven ownership of the technical health and success of a major product or platform, and a track record of developing and guiding senior engineers
