Job Description - Lead Spanish Teacher (Grades K-6)
THE ROLE
Our Lead Spanish Teacher will create a classroom environment that fosters high academic achievement, cultural appreciation, and a love for language learning. As a Lead Spanish Teacher for grades K-6, you will play a critical role in building an innovative language program that equips scholars with foundational Spanish proficiency while cultivating global awareness. You will hold scholars to high standards both academically and behaviorally while continuously developing as a professional. Teaching three sections per with a class size of 25 scholars is both a privilege and a commitment, requiring dedication, passion, and a growth mindset.
THE PERSON
As a Lead Spanish Teacher, you will:
Design and deliver engaging, rigorous Spanish instruction that builds fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs and ensure all scholars develop language proficiency.
Integrate cultural studies to foster an appreciation of Spanish-speaking communities worldwide.
Assess and monitor scholar progress, providing timely feedback and reports to both scholars and parents.
Collaborate with fellow educators to align Spanish instruction with the overall academic program.
Cultivate a classroom culture that celebrates diversity, equity, and a commitment to academic excellence.
Utilize diverse instructional materials and strategies to enhance scholar engagement and mastery.
Communicate effectively with scholars, families, and staff to support each scholar’s growth.
THE MUST HAVES
Prior Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Spanish or Elementary Education (or ability to obtain certification).
Demonstrated experience in teaching Spanish to elementary or middle school-age scholars, with a track record of student growth and engagement.
Strong proficiency in Spanish and a deep understanding of language acquisition strategies.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
Work Demands
Schedule: 7:15 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
