Job description
· Communicate with internal teams, including the sales representative, to guide clients through the Discovery phase of the process where the tax credit is calculated and substantiated.
· Lead technical interviews (‘discovery’ calls) with clients and/or their staff to obtain information about their R&D Activities.
· Communicate with compliance and external council as needed to ensure compliance with IRS Regulations.
· Substantiate in writing the eligibility of a client’s Quality Research Activities (QRA) project for the four-part test used to determine its qualification for the Research and Development (R&D) tax credit.
· Review the tax credit computations and data compiled by the Discovery Analyst for state and federal credits and address any issues or deficiencies.
· Prepare the final numbers for delivery to the client and their CPA
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent experience required
Relevant tax experience typically required
Professional certifications such as CPA or EA is a plus
