About Us:
A Children's Carousel in Weston has been a leader in early childhood education for over 20 years, providing a nurturing and academically enriching environment for young learners. Our school follows the HighScope Curriculum and emphasizes hands-on learning, creativity, and social-emotional development.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team and help foster a love for learning in our students.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and oversee developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with the HighScope Curriculum.
- Create a warm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports children’s academic and social-emotional growth.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on learning experiences.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets all state and school guidelines.
- Observe and assess children’s development, documenting progress and communicating with parents regularly.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Follow and implement all DCF (Department of Children and Families) regulations and school policies.
- Participate in professional development and training as required.
Qualifications:
✅ Minimum of 2 years of experience in Early Childhood Education (Preschool or Pre-K preferred).
✅ Fluent in English (bilingual candidates are a plus).
✅ Must meet all DCF requirements, including:
CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential or equivalent.
40-hour DCF training completed.
- Background screening & fingerprint clearance.
CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
✅ Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early education.
✅ Passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.
