Under the direction of the Center Director and Assistant Director, the Preschool and Pre-K Collaboration Lead Teacher is responsible to ensure the integration of children, family, community and organization services into the classroom and from home to school. The Collaboration Lead Teacher helps to monitor training and provides leadership for the Preschool and Pre-K Teachers and classrooms. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child enrolled in a group. In addition to classroom teaching duties; will develop and implement individual educational plans and assessment so children, and assist Teachers in the development and imp Cares for and educates children as part of a teaching team. The incumbent must be willing to fulfill the responsibilities of the position in accordance with the Early Learning Center’s philosophy.
Immediately report any unusual incident or child absence that threatens the physical or emotional health or safety of any child or suspected neglect, physical or psychological abuse of any kind;
Supervise Teachers as assigned by the director or head teacher;
Implement daily curriculum, i.e. art, science, music, movement, cooking, circle time, gross and fine motor activities, story time, social skills, etc., as assigned;
Assist in planning curriculum to include preparing work area and organizing curriculum materials;
Establish and maintain an environment for children, which is clean, safe, stimulating is appropriate for each child’s developmental level;
Assume an equal share of the general tasks, such as; housekeeping, diaper changing and snack/meal preparation;
Assist the director and staff in parent conferences;
Assist with documentation for children’s files and paperwork for licensing, as needed;
Administer First Aid if necessary;
Complete and file reports in the event of an accident or injury; work with human resources as necessary;
Attend and participate in professional conferences and workshops to enhance position related efficiency and knowledge;
Maintains high confidentiality standards at all times. Is required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment;
May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must have 12 CORE units of Early Childhood Education, this position requires three units in infant and toddler development in addition to the 12 CORE units if working with toddlers and/or three units in school age curriculum if working with school age children. Associate’s Degree is preferred.
Experience:
One (1) year related experience in a licensed child care center.
Licensing:
Must be 18 years of age.
Must meet the minimum licensing requirements for a Teacher. Will be required to apply and maintain Associate Teacher or Teacher Permit.
Must obtain and maintain a current certificate in pediatric first aid, CPR and health/safety requirements.
Able to maintain compliance with Licensing, clear criminal clearance and child abuse index.
Must possess a valid California Driver’s License.
Must be able to clear a DMV clearance in order to help with transportation of children.
May be required to travel.

Promotes positive guidance techniques with a variety of creative and expressive activities;
Dedicated hard worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis;

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
Must be in good health to meet the requirements of a medical examination and TB clearance;
Must be able to stoop, kneel and lift a child of sixty (60) pounds or less;
Must be able to move or lift supplies up to sixty (60) pounds.
