Lead Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
Urban Veterinary Associates
Urban Veterinary Associates is seeking a driven, reliable Lead Certified Veterinary Technician who takes pride in their work and wants to lead a team that values excellence, accountability, and mutual respect. This is a leadership role for someone who shows up prepared, thinks ahead, and believes that doing things right matters.
If you have a strong work ethic, high personal standards, and want to work in a hospital where those traits are recognized and appreciated, you’ll feel at home here.
Why High Performers Thrive at Urban Vet
We are intentional about our culture and our standards:
- We promote team wellness – strong systems and clear leadership prevent burnout
- We proactively free solo – initiative and ownership are valued, not punished
- Our reputation promotes trust – consistency and professionalism matter
- We LIVE perpetual improvement – learning, feedback, and growth are part of the job
We believe excellent teams are built by people who care deeply about their work.
What This Role Really Is
As Lead CVT, you will:
- Lead from the floor with confidence, competence, and consistency
- Balance independent decision-making with strong team collaboration
- Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to protocols
- Support and train technicians, assistants, and kennel staff
- Address issues early, fairly, and professionally
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings with the Hospital Owner/Medical Director and Practice Manager
- Help shape workflow, scheduling, and daily efficiency
- Multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-standard hospital
This is a role for someone who sees what needs to be done — and does it.
Clinical Responsibilities
You will remain clinically active performing CVT duties, including:
- Anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Surgical and dental assistance
- Advanced nursing care for ill and hospitalized patients
- Laboratory diagnostics and radiography
- Medication, vaccine, and fluid administration
- Client education and communication
- Oversight of logs, protocols, and medical record accuracy
? Attendance & Reliability (A Core Expectation)
Excellent attendance and punctuality are essential.
High-functioning teams rely on consistency, and this leadership role sets the standard for the rest of the hospital.
If you take pride in being dependable and prepared, this role will respect that.
Professional Leadership Boundaries
- This position requires the ability to enforce protocols, even when it’s uncomfortable
- Leaders may need to maintain professional boundaries with staff outside of work — fairness and trust come first
- Respect is built through consistency, not popularity
If you want next:
- A slightly shorter version for Indeed
- A more aspirational / leadership-forward version
- A version that subtly discourages underperformers even more
Just tell me — this one is already doing a lot of filtering in your favor.
What We’re Looking For

- Strong technical skills and confidence in anesthesia and surgery
- Proven work ethic and sense of ownership
- Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure
- Clear, respectful communication with staff and leadership
- Comfort giving feedback and holding others accountable
- Desire to grow as a leader and contribute long-term
Physical & Work Environment
- Standing, lifting, restraining, and multitasking throughout the day
- Regular lifting up to 40 lbs; assistance available for larger dogs

- OSHA and DEA compliance required
This Role Is a Great Fit If You:
- Care deeply about doing things the right way
- Prefer clear expectations over chaos
- Value teamwork, structure, and accountability
