Lead Veterinary Technician Oncology_

Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH)  is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician Oncology Lead to work 4-10 hour shifts  between Monday through Friday. This position does not require weekends

About the role:  The Lead Veterinary Technician, under the general supervision of the Hospital Services Manager/Specialty Supervisor assists with implementing and maintaining the highest level of service and care to clients and patients. This role is 75% technical and 25% administrative.
You will:
Serve as the liaison between leadership and staff; develop constructive and cooperative working relationships across the hospital. Direct reports would include assigned support staff (assistants, technicians, and kennel assistants). Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, communication and cooperation among team members.
Participate in developing, maintaining and updating training procedures to ensure that all current and newly hired client care staff members are trained and knowledgeable in all areas of the hospital. Promote adherence to hospital policies and procedures
Maintain adequate staffing to ensure efficiency based on customer flow and volumes, including management of PTO to ensure staffing fits the service needs.
About You:
+ Credentialed veterinary technician or VTS preferred
+ 2-3  years of clinical veterinary oncology/chemotherapy experience required
+ 1+ years of supervisory experience
+ Must possess and demonstrate effective leadership qualities.
+ Ability to promote effective communication amongst team members
+ Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions
+ Proven ability to lead by example
Physical Requirements:
+ Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
+ Stand for up to 9 hours per day

Wage Ranges:
Veterinary Assistant:  $18 - $23 per hour
Veterinary Technician:  $25 - $35 per hour
Veterinary Technician Specialist:  $31 - $40 per hour
