3RD SHIFT: Sun-Thur, 11p-7:30a


 


Summary: Assists in coordinating and monitoring activities of workers and machines engaged in plastics production.


 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


 



  • Observes all Safety policies and procedures as outlined within Newell Brands’ Safety Excellence and Leadership (SEAL) program.

  • Drive success through the Company’s Planning, Engagement, Awareness and Knowledge (PEAK) continuous improvement program.

  • Personally responsible for upholding the Newell Brands Values and the Code of Conduct.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly workstation for compliance with Newell Brands’ Housekeeping standards.

  • Ability to use hand tools to change out parts including cylinders, pneumatic valves, core pins, vacuum brake components, filters, blow needles, linear actuators, tighten knockouts, replace water lines, replace air lines and replace fittings.

  • Manage and maintain the material management system.

  • Utilize micro main to document daily work and parts consumed from MRO.

  • Read and follow production notes for sets and color changes

  • Ensure operators have been trained on JSA's, safety and PPE for the machines they are assigned to

  • Responsible for production output of machines they are assigned, keeping quality and cycle time per requirements

  • Initiate and track training of personnel as required

  • Make machine and programming changes as required

  • Monitor and maintain material handling system

  • Maintain 6/S initiative

  • Make product sets, including molds, fixtures, plugs etc. as required

  • Do color changes

  • Complete all required documentation

  • Troubleshoots to maintain smooth flow of production or product shipments, instruct employees on the job as necessary

  • Plans and issues work assignments as instructed by supervision to maintain department schedules

  • Assist with production problems

  • Helps make job estimates

  • Reports on irregular conditions such as non-observance of standard procedures, equipment failures and production slowdowns

  • Initiates requisitions for materials and supplies

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are a must

  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery

  • Must be able to work a weekend shift

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed


 


Supervisory Responsibilities                                          


 


Directly supervises Coleman employees and contingent workforce employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED and six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of one year manufacturing experience. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions presented in English.


 


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


 


Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


 


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
