Summary

Leader Portfolio Management | Strategic Procurement - We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Leader in Portfolio Management for our Strategic Procurement team. This role involves managing a team of strategic category managers who are responsible for optimizing procurement spend across a portfolio of categories or major projects. The leader will play a crucial role in achieving organizational and business unit goals through effective cost management, supplier management, and process improvement.

What your day would be like:

You are responsible for:

* Develop and implement supply chain strategies, targets, and schedules to achieve cost management, supplier management (including supplier diversity and process improvement) goals.* Partner with senior executives and business unit stakeholders to understand spending needs across categories, guiding the category management team to develop effective strategies.* Influence business unit spending decisions to align with category strategies, optimizing overall spending.* Ideal candidate will have experience in strategic procurement and portfolio management, leadership and team management skills.* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.* Demonstrated success in influencing spending decisions and optimizing procurement costs.

Minimum Requirements

Leader Portfolio Management | Strategic Procurement

* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or other job-related discipline from an accredited college or university* PLUS four (4) years materials or services procurement experience with significant exposure to strategic supply chain management issues.* In lieu of bachelor's degree, professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM)* PLUS eight (8) years of significant, closely-related materials/services/supply chain experience;* OR Associate's degree in business or related discipline, professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM)* PLUS six (6) years of significant, closely-related materials/services/supply chain experience.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications

* Prior leadership or supervisory experience.* MBA or master's degree in related discipline.* Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM).* Proficiency in multiple categories and supply chain programs, techniques, tools, concepts including Total Cost of Ownership.* Working knowledge and understanding of procurement and work management systems.* Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, interpersonal and presentation skills.* Using Microsoft Office applications.

Major Accountabilities

1) Manages the development and implementation of supply chain strategies for a portfolio of categories to achieve targeted supply chain results for cost management, supplier management including supplier diversity and process improvements.

* Drives category management methodology to achieve maximum life cycle value from major spend categories.* Facilities buy-in of procurement objectives and strategies at the senior stakeholder level.* Influences spending decisions by challenging business unit assumptions and providing recommendations supported by data driven insights.

2) Leads category management team in determining strategy and resources for supporting procurement requirements of complex major projects including planning, integration and execution of the entire project and compliance of agreements.

3) Acts a Procurement's primary interface role to senior internal customers to gain understanding of internal customer supply needs and work with category managers to ensure stakeholder needs are met.

* Coordinates with business unit leadership to develop long-term sourcing needs and strategies.* Assists business units in producing forecasting and planning; in validating forecast vs. actuals.* Summarizes and communicates "big picture" capex and opex strategies for category managers.* Oversees the adoption/adherence to executed contracts by business and managing contracting/supplier disputes.

4) Develops and executes processes to maximize value.

* Coordinates supply chain processes to achieve expected results.* Interfaces regularly with internal customers, suppliers and supply chain staff (primarily buyers and category managers) to execute strategies and achieve expected results.* Drives team to achieve annual savings target for a portfolio of categories while balancing other business requirements.

5) Selects, develops, mentors and motivates a high performing team through effective coaching, performance feedback, recognition, training and development opportunities to accomplish goals and deliver high quality services and products.

6) Drives productivity and process improvement efforts across portfolio.

* Introduces new practices in supply chain management to assist in achieving productivity and process improvement objectives.

7) Recommends and provides input in the development of operating budget.

* Monitors spending for adherence to budget.* Recommends plans to address variances.

Flex Role:

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:

* APS office based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from an APS facility.* Home based: The employee prefers to work most of the time from his/her home.* Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
