Job Description - Learning & Development Specialist


About the role: 

The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist works collaboratively with the Learning & Development Manager, Human Resources, Safety, department managers, subject matter experts, and the general workforce to coordinate training and employee development. The L&D Specialist plays an essential role in aligning training needs with both business and employee needs. 

  

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate schedules, venues, materials, meals, audio/visual, and other requirements for in-person training events
  • Administer Learning Management System (LMS) including record management, reporting, adding/updating online courses, troubleshooting, registration, and class scheduling 
  • Support the L&D Manager with scheduling and calendar management
  • Support the L&D Manager with project intake and prioritization
  • Support employees with registration and general administration for all L&D programs
  • Coordinate vendor contracting and invoicing
  • Edit and create videos, recordings, and presentations associated with L&D classes and programs
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop L&D content that aligns with company values, adult learning principles, instructional design best practices, and a focus on safety
  • Work effectively with a diverse workforce
  • Travel to jobsites throughout the Colorado Front Range on occasion 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Business or similar field, or equivalent work experience 
  • 4-7 years of experience in a Learning & Development role
  • Strong client service orientation 
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently 
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal); ability to present complex/technical information in a clear, informative manner 
  • Proficiency using Microsoft suite of applications 
  • Familiarity with adult learning theory and instructional design techniques preferred 
  • Valid Driver’s License

Salary: Range of $56,000 to $80,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with technical skills and experience.
