Job Description - Learning Club Coordinator

The Smith Family is a national children’s education charity that works with children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty – so they can thrive now and into their futures.


 


 


About the role


 


We are currently seeking a Learning Club Coordinator to join our growing team. The Learning Club Coordinator is a vital role within the Learning for Life Programs, being responsible for the delivery of The Smith Family Learning Clubs to engage students in their academic learning. This position includes, implementation and facilitation of the program, coordination and supervision of tutors and participants.


 


To ensure the successful delivery of the Learning for Life Club program you must be willing to communicate and liaise with key stakeholders, maintain appropriate duty of care and child protection policies and ensuring relevant evaluation is completed.


 


As a Learning Club Coordinator, you will:


 



  • Be responsible for the weekly management and administrative tasks enabling smooth and efficient running of the Learning Club program

  • Be responsible for supervising and supporting volunteer tutors to implement learning practices during Learning Club sessions which are run out of our partner primary schools

  • Be responsible for ensuring the duty of care of volunteer tutors and TSF child protection policy is implemented for the duration of the club

  • Be responsible for ensuring planning and maintenance of resources for each learning club session in collaboration with the Program Coordinator

  • Ensure regular communication is maintained with The Smith Family Program Coordinator on the overall delivery of the club and matters relating to student safety, health and welfare


 


 


About you


 


Learning Club Coordinators come from varied backgrounds with different skills and experience.


 


As well as a passion for community and fostering student success, you will bring:


 



  • Experience in working with children preferably within a child related field

  • Clear behaviour management strategies, that support students

  • Experience in management of volunteer tutors

  • High level of literacy, written, verbal skills

  • Knowledge of the challenges affecting disadvantaged students and students with additional supports

  • Demonstrated commitment to learning, developing skills and sharing knowledge
