Job Description - Learning Experience & Instructional Designer

Your Job

The Koch Capabilities Learning & Development (L&D) team is a diverse group of learning professionals who partner with our businesses/capabilities across the organization to provide best-in-class learning solutions that improve performance, understanding, and capabilities (including risk mitigation) of our employees.

Our Team

You will join the L&D team as a Learning Experience/Instructional Designer to support the learning content design and development needs of our various internal stakeholders/clients. This position will develop learning solutions (for various delivery modes) that can optimize learner experience while meeting the learning needs of the L&D team's clients, which includes (but is not limited to) Compliance & Ethics, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and other partners within Koch businesses/capabilities.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong enthusiasm for adult learning and instructional design and excels in a proactive, detail-oriented approach, even in a fast-paced setting. The candidate should be a creative thinker who can partner effectively with peers, subject matter experts, and senior leaders to develop and execute instructionally sound and engaging learning solutions. With a dedication to lead with excellence, bring value to the business, and drive personal and professional growth, the Learning Experience/Instructional Designer is an integral part of the Learning & Development team and plays a crucial role in our organization's learning journey.

What You Will Do

Design & Development
Design and develop a comprehensive range of engaging and visually compelling learning solutions for both in-person and online modalities, including but not limited to online training modules, slide decks, job aids, activity sheets, computer-based training, facilitator support guides, end user guides, and various learning assets tailored for specific initiatives.
Take ownership in every stage of the instructional design process including needs assessment, design scoping/storyboarding, content design and development, and final delivery.
Ensure instructional design is of the highest quality and reflects the latest learning industry best practices (both methodologies and technologies)



Stakeholder Management & Consultation
Collaborate closely with internal subject matter experts (SME) to fully understand the scope, requirements, and realistic timeline for learning solutions to meet learning objectives and business needs
Provide instructional design consultation to determine best approach to reach learning initiatives, which in some cases will require helping SMEs thinking beyond the traditional training module
Build positive partnerships with project stakeholders to establish preferred partnerships.



Portfolio & Project Management
Revise and evolve existing learning solutions within the team's portfolio to promote continuous improvement of content delivery and overall learning experience.
Collaborating closely with fellow team members on the L&D team to ensure seamless project execution until final delivery.



Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Passion for solving problems and delivering impactful solutions.
Team player who can build trusted relationships/partnerships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
2-5 years' experience with Instructional Design techniques/technologies (i.e., online development tools)
Experience with articulate 360 authoring tools.
Experience creating learning outcomes based on learner needs assessment and storyboard content.



What Will Put You Ahead
Deep understanding of adult learning theories and instructional methodologies
Minimum 5+ years of experience in e-learning content design & development experience
Bachelor's/Master's Degree in a related field
Portfolio of recently created instructional design work
