ABOUT LEARNINGWORKS AFTERSCHOOL (LWAS)
LearningWorks Afterschool (LWAS) provides high-quality academic intervention and enrichment programming for elementary students. LWAS partners with local school districts to help students strengthen foundational literacy and mathematics skills, improve school engagement, and develop the social-emotional skills necessary for long-term academic success.
LearningWorks Afterschool is funded primarily through 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grants and is delivered in partnership with local school districts.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging afterschool instruction support to elementary students participating in the LearningWorks Afterschool Program.
Working closely with the Site Coordinator and program staff, the Teacher creates a structured, inclusive learning environment where students receive targeted academic support, develop positive learning habits, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to instructional time, teachers participate in pre-program planning, weekly team meetings, lesson preparation, and required professional development.
