Job Description - Leasing Administrative Assistant - Near Joliet, IL



Leasing Administrator – Affordable Housing
Location: Channahon, IL
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time, Tuesday–Saturday


Join our team as a Leasing Administrator and help create a welcoming, professional environment for residents and prospects. You’ll assist with leasing paperwork, property tours, rent processing, and administrative tasks while ensuring all Fair Housing guidelines are met.


What You’ll Do:




  • Greet visitors, tenants, and vendors with professionalism and a welcoming attitude.




  • Answer and route phone calls, take detailed messages, and assist with inquiries.




  • Provide administrative support to property management staff, including reports, correspondence, filing, and mail processing.




  • Maintain office supplies and equipment inventory.




  • Assist with lease renewals, tenant file maintenance, interviews, and rent calculations.




  • Process work orders, coordinate with maintenance staff, and handle related paperwork.




  • Show apartments to prospective tenants and provide property information.




  • Manage waiting lists and support move-in/move-out procedures.




  • Assist with rent collections and re-certifications.




  • Uphold all Fair Housing requirements and company policies.




Qualifications:




  • High School diploma or GED (2-year college degree a plus)



  • Must have a leasing license 


  • 1+ year administrative or customer service experience (leasing experience a plus)




  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)




  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills




  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills




  • Willingness to travel between properties as needed




  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people and maintain professionalism in challenging situations
