What You’ll Do

Assist the Legal Product Team in achieving viable and sustained success by researching, documenting, and communicating laws applicable to AppFolio’s products and services and liaising with assigned teams.

Partner with attorneys to research and analyze regulations, enforcement actions, and regulatory guidance applicable to AppFolio products and services.
Assist attorneys with messaging identified legal risks and concerns.
Identify and implement practical, novel, and creative ways to document, track, and communicate legal findings and guidance.
Attend and participate in assigned business meetings as the Legal Product Team’s representative and report back pertinent issues and information to the applicable attorney.
Participate in projects and special assignments at the direction of attorneys.

Must Haves

4+ years of related professional experience in the legal field.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Proficiency with basic legal research.
Strong interest in pursuing a career in the law.

Good to Have

A certificate in paralegal studies.
2+ years working in an “in-house” environment (working in the technology industry, even better).
Working knowledge of the U.S. legal system.
Proficiency with GSuite, Trello, Westlaw, Salesforce, Zoom, Slack

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is $67,000-$90,000.

The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.

Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
